About

You cannot wind the clock back and live the moment tomorrow. Things change every second as the surroundings move. Photography allows me to capture the moment that will never be the same. I have been taking photographs for 40 plus years every day, everywhere I go. When I’m out there, I see things that drive my emotioans and imagination.

In the 1990’s, I started my journey to encapsulate not only what I see but what I felt at that moment, by digitally manipulating different photographs of places I have been and things I have seen. When ’it’ happens, I know exactly what I want to do when I press the shutter. Using editing software to enhance the image, alter texture & colors adding brushstrokes into my artwork to portray my feelings my imagination had when I took the photo. Creating works which have been characterized as extraordinary in neo-expressionist & abstract-expressionist genres.

There is no theme or explanation in what I do, my mind guides me through this journey until the last moment when I print my work on the medium that delivers my creation.

Louis Pioli is a highly acclaimed photographic artist living in New York City, originally from upstate New York in the Finger Lakes region his love for art was always evident in his early photos.

In New York City in the 80’s as a commercial associate photographer with Giraldi Studios, Pioli staged lit and shot print ads for Canal Jeans Co., Miller Lite, Lancome Cosmetics and AT&T among others.

In the 90’s his freelance work included actor and musician headshots along with theatrical production publicity and archival photography for The Pearl Theatre Company and BZ Productions.

Then entered the technology age of computers.  With his creative mind always seeking that visual pleasing creative piece, he began using his photographs and worked on developing a technique, utilizing computer programs, experimenting with different papers and ink, spending many hours as all artists do.

Which leads us to where he is today, creating artwork from his photographs, digitally enhancing creating brushstrokes adding multiple images, objects and sometimes shadows into his work.

His artwork/photography are truly one of a kind pieces of art as seen “Through My Eyes”.

We hope you enjoy his work and thank you for stopping by.
